Intended as a relaxing space within a disused industrial wharf, the garden features reclaimed items from the wharf, used to enhance the atmosphere, and planting which creates an ideal habitat for wildlife, with sculptures inspired by the industry. The plant supplier for this garden are Walker’s Nurseries.

When did you first start working on the original design and how long did it take to perfect?
It was inspired in August 2015.
What are the stand-out features of this particular garden?
The reclaimed crane jib and drawbridge.
What is so special about having a show garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show?
The first large horticultural show of the season and lots of exposure.
How do you hope the public/visitors will perceive this garden?
As inventive, turning a disused industrial site into an atmospheric garden.

What are you most looking forward to about the build?
Building the initial structures i.e. erecting the crane jib and the pedestrian drawbridge.
What’s going to be the biggest challenge on the build?
Levels and the stuttering frame and cladding, as the garden has to be built from the ground up.
Are specialist contractors required for any elements?
No.
If you could take one thing away with you from this garden, what would it be?
The sculptures.
Do you think the judges have enough knowledge of the complexity of construction when deciding on the medals?
Some simple detailing can be overlooked, which has taken hours to design and construct.
